Privacy Policy
Last updated September 9, 2026
Ticka is a beer diary and discovery service operated by Ruminari Inc. (USA). This policy describes what personal information Ticka collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Ticka you agree to this policy.
Information you provide
•
Account details: your email address, display name, username, optional first and last name, optional bio, optional profile photo, and home country.
•
Sign-in method: if you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a basic identifier and email from that provider. Apple's private relay email addresses are supported.
•
Your activity: the beers you log ("ticks") along with any rating, notes and date; lists you create; stories and comments you post; and who you follow.
•
Photos you upload, such as a profile picture or a photo attached to a log or story.
Information collected automatically
•
Approximate location, only when you choose to attach a location to a log. Ticka uses your device's location permission to work out an approximate place (city, region, country) — it does not store precise coordinates, and you can skip this.
•
Basic technical data needed to run the service (for example, the app version shown on your profile).
Label scanning
In the mobile app you can point your camera at a beer label. That image is sent to the Google Cloud Vision API to read the text on the label so Ticka can match it to a beer. The image is used for that lookup and is not kept by Ticka afterwards. Label scanning is not part of the web app.
How your information is used
•
To create and maintain your account.
•
To provide the service: showing your diary, lists and stats, matching beers, and powering the feed and social features.
•
To keep the community of legal drinking age (see our Age Protection Policy).
•
To respond to you when you contact support.
Ticka does not show advertising, does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and does not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
•
Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage and Hosting) stores your account and activity data on Google's cloud infrastructure on our behalf.
•
Google Cloud Vision processes label images as described above.
•
Apple or Google, only if you choose one of those sign-in methods.
•
Other users see the parts of your profile and activity that are public by design — your public profile, public lists, stories and comments.
•
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and its users.
Data location
Your information is processed on Google Cloud infrastructure and may be stored in the United States or other countries where Google operates.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen — this removes your profile and permanently signs you out. Residual copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period before being overwritten. For help, contact support@brew-tracker.com.
Your choices
•
Edit your profile information in the app at any time.
•
Adjust what appears in your feed from the Profile screen.
•
Turn off location access for Ticka in your device settings; logs will then be saved without a location.
Children
Ticka is not intended for anyone below the legal drinking age and we do not knowingly collect their information. See our Age Protection Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
